Presenting my final look for an 1890s inspired tailored coat!

My critique in front of a panel of faculty went well. Certain improvements that they felt could be made included: lengthening of the shoulder line (which I agreed to - as it is right now, the shoulder line seems too short and gives a squished impression), including a big pouffy leg of mutton sleeve (which I did not agree with - this was an inspiration piece, not a historically accurate garment, and I wanted the collar to be the main focus), and to lengthen the black skirt underneath so that it was visible under the coat (which I agree with).
Other than those ideas, I got a positive response from the faculty and my fellow classmates. Although I liked my mock-up version better (the cream wool), I was really happy with the final product, and I got an A+, so that's really all that matters :)
