Once, long ago, I had a great job in the gaming industry. My uniform alterations were done by the casino's seamstress, and the only sewing I did was making the occasional doll outfit at home. Then I got fired. I spent the next few years stuck in a dead-end job. In April, 2009, after my second temporary lay-off in a year, I finally admitted that it was time to do something productive with my life. I have always enjoyed sewing, so I decided to get a degree in apparel design. I am currently taking class part time at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and in January I will become a full time student at UW-Stout where I will earn a B.S. in apparel design.
I could go on writing about myself like this for a while, but you have probably already read enough. If you do want more you can take a look at the following links:
My blog - a chronicle of my experiences as an apparel design student
My maille - I am not limited to making apparel; I make chainmaille too
My tweets - I do not have much to say on Twitter, but if you care about what little I do say this is the place to look
